log: end o’ summer 2015

Semi-annual pilgrimage to Paliza Canyon in the Jemez, this year camped a bit further north than usual. In an area where a lot of pumice mining happened early 20th century, grassland habitat had a few Chamiza/Rabbit Brush in full bloom. And, look what was feeding on them in that 7000′, north central NM area:

Glad to see Monarchs in our own high elevations, in the middle of their migration time!

So many delights in one post! First, to see you pop up again. Then, to see the wonderful flowers, and best of all the monarchs. It’s a wonderful time of year, filled with beauties. I hope you’re enjoying them all.

Are you still making tiles? I hope so. I did so much enjoy seeing your work. Everything here is good. I had cataract surgery and lens implantation in July, so I’m seeing the world anew — it’s a great experience.

Linda, thanks for your attentive comments. I am still making tiles, yes – and working on some ideas for a mosaic group show next June. I squeeze in some studio time, alongside my museum teaching job. Pretty lucky.

Thanks for telling me about your eye surgery – both eyes? That’s major. Glad to hear it improves your eyesight. Something to be grateful for, I realize now!
Best wishes to you in your coast life, with your writing craft, so prolific you are.
